Hey there my sweet creative friends!
Today I want to share with you a video tutorial that incorporates two of my own personal creative passions – mixed media and card making.
I absolutely love, LOVE, LOVE when I can combine both and end up with something that I am super happy with.
What’s interesting is that there were many points during the process where things weren’t going the way I envisioned, and when I wasn’t quite sure if I was liking the direction the card was taking. In fact, at one point in the video, you’ll hear me refer to my card as a “comedy of errors.”
Now, today’s video is a little different than my typical card-making videos, because I decided not speed up the video, trim and voice-over as I usually do, in order to keep the video short and sweet. Instead, I decided to keep it ALL in.
Because so often when we look at finished projects and watch the edited version, it’s hard to get a true appreciation for all the “fiddling” involved in getting your card to the point where you love it. And watercoloring, while a beautiful technique, is by no means a quick one.
I know that I personally appreciate being able to see the full process whenever I am trying to learn something new, so this video is for those of you who are like me and want to see it all.
For those of you who don’t want to take the time to watch it all, there is a downloadable PDF you can follow instead.
