My Artsy Faith | "Here I Am Lord" Illustrated Faith Bible Journaling Video Tutorial - Pic3

Hey there sweet friends!  Today I have a Bible Journaling video tutorial to share with you.  It’s my first Bible Journaling page in my brand new ESV Single Column Journaling Bible by Crossway.

The page in my Bible that I used is the very first page you see when you open up your Bible – the one that says “This bible belongs to.”

I decided that I wanted to personalize my page by incorporating some of my favourite colors, patterns, textures, and embellishments – all those artsy things that just make me happy when I play with them and then look at my creation afterwards.

I see this page as a special page because essentially although it is about me in a sense – it’s a page that I have dedicated to the Lord to let Him know that I am here, ready and waiting to hear his voice.

And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” ~ Isaiah 6:8

You’ll see me using a variety of products on this page – some current, others no longer available.  I’ve been a mixed media artist, scrapbooker and card maker for MANY years now – and art and creating are my business. So, over the years, I’ve accumulated a pretty big stash of stuff – things that I have purchased, but also things that were given to me by various manufacturers for review.

Why am I telling you this?

Because it’s really easy to get caught up in the supplies.

“Supply envy” is pretty common in the creative world – we love the way we see something used, so we really, really want it.

I’ll admit, I’ve been bitten by the green-eyed monster a few times myself over the years…….each time, I have to remind myself that it’s not about the supplies, especially when it comes to Bible Journaling.

Friends, Bible journaling should never be about the products.  Yes the products are a blessing, but they are not necessary.  Please do not let lack of products keep you from Bible journaling if you are feeling called in that direction.

All you really need for Bible journaling is your Bible, a pencil and eraser, a fine-tip black journaling marker, and some colors – these could be color pencils, markers, craft paints, watercolours – it’s totally up to you.  Everything else falls into the “nice-to-have” category.

“Here I Am Lord” Bible Journaling Process Video

I’ve filmed a process video for you, walking you through how I created this page – step by step. If you don’t see the video on the page then please be sure to refresh your page.  For some reason the video doesn’t always show up when the page first loads.

Here are a few more close-ups of the finished page:
