Hey there sweet friends! Today I wanted to share with you a card I created using one of my favourite bundles from the 2017 Occasions Mini Catalogue – which will also be in the soon-to-be-released 2017-2018 main catalogue (although not as a bundle) – YAY!
For this card I combined both regular stamping with dye-based inks as well as some watercoloring, which I used to add shading to my images.
Essentially, I stamped my images onto watercolor paper using my Classic inks, I then smoothed out the color with an aqua painter, and added shading with a darker (yet still tone-on-tone) ink color. A super easy technique which allows you to give your solid image stamps more visual depth.

Thank You!!!!! I have this set and was not quite sure how I wanted to use it. I LOVE your card and am looking forward to watching the video for inspiration.
Love the way you colored the ice cream treats! A very different look. Thanks for sharing with us.
I LOVE this card! On the surface it looks so simple… but it is so much more. Kind of like the difference between me decorating a room and an interior designer. I made this card and I can’t stop looking at it. Perfection!
Thanks for the great video. I like seeing the whole water coloring process and the subtle shading that you create. I’ve followed you since the papercrafter’s library days (which I loved and have missed) and am so glad you’re back. I took your falling flowers class I’m looking forward to your next one.
Like Laura, I was trying to decide how I was going to use this stamp set. I make cards for my Granddaughter to give to her classmates. This idea will be perfect, and she will love helping me make them. Thank you! B
Wow, that card is fantastic.
What a difference the shading made.
You have a wonderful style.
thanks for sharing (I have a stoke, my mind don’t work well)
Great card Andrea.
Just love your card, what a difference when the shading is applied. I look forward to creating some cards for my grandchildren.
Thank you for sharing. I am going to try this! Great video, easy to understand and follow. You are awesome!
